Hon. Daniel E. Nastro ’59 has been awarded the Pursuit of Justice Award by the American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section. The award, which recognizes lawyers and judges who have shown outstanding merit and who excel in providing access to justice for all, was presented at the TIPS welcome reception on October 15, 2015 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Bruce J. Graham ’63 has published his novel, And the Next President Is…, focusing on what happens after the death of the presidential election winner before the electoral college votes. Graham’s stories and articles have won awards and appeared in national magazines, including WWII Magazine and Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine.

George Grasser ’64 was named “Buffalo Ambassador of the Year” by Visit Buffalo Niagara, the convention and tourism bureau for the Buffalo Niagara area, for his work as co-chair of the 2014 Congress for the New Urbanism that was held in Buffalo and attracted 1,355 people from 19 countries.
William J. Corbett ’65 recently attended the White House Conference on Aging, which has been held each decade since 1960 to identify and advance actions to improve the quality of life of older Americans.
Thomas J. Kavaler ’72 received the St. Thomas More Award at the 26th Annual Lawyers Luncheon of the Inner-City Scholarship Fund. Thomas More Award is given to those who exemplify the virtues of Saint Thomas: scholarship, leadership, loyalty to God and country, and service to the legal profession.
James Daw ’74 is beginning his third year as an attorney volunteer with the Bronx CLARO program, which is sponsored by the Feerick Center. He has also been involved with the Consumer Debt Clinic in Bronx Civil Court, where they prepare papers for low income and frequently desperate litigants, who are victimized by unscrupulous debt collectors. Daw states, “My experience with CLARO has turned out to be one of the most rewarding things I have ever done as a lawyer.”

Lawrence Brennan ’77 lectured on the Iranian Hostage Rescue Mission at the New York Racquet Club on September 2015. Brennan was the JAG on board USS Nimitz, the ship which launched eight helicopters into Iran on April 24, 1980. He is a retired Navy Captain, an adjunct Professor (Admiralty and International Maritime Law) at Fordham Law, and a partner at Rubin, Fiorella & Firedman, LLP.

Glenn Kerner ’87 has been named to partner in overseeing Goodwin Procter’s national litigation practice.
