    Sexual Misconduct Case Shakes Up Albany

    Zephyr Teachout was quoted in the Niagara Gazette about the sexual misconduct case against New York State Senator Jeff Klein.

    “This is a real moment of reckoning for Albany,” said Zephyr Teachout, a Fordham Law School professor who has written a book about government corruption and mounted an unsuccessful challenge to Cuomo in the 2014 gubernatorial primary.

     

    “Albany has a reputation for being a town with a lot of powerful men and a lot of young staffers who are women, with a reputation for sexual harassment being a problem.”

     

    She said she has been disappointed so far by the response to the allegation from the IDC — which is standing by Klein — and Flanagan.

     

    “What they have signaled is that if you want to come forward with an allegation, we’re going to circle the wagons, and that is exactly the wrong response,” Teachout said in an interview.
