Alumna Erica Bond ’07 joins the Civilian Complaint Review Board, New York City’s independent police conduct oversight agency, after serving Mayor Bill de Blasio’s office for three years as a special advisor for criminal justice and public safety.
“I think it’ll provide me a really wonderful opportunity to serve the city,” Bond said in an interview with the New York Law Journal Monday. She said she was honored to join the board, which she said plays a unique role in the relationship between police and the communities in the city they serve.

Bond has an extensive background in criminal justice issues, which grew out of her early career work as a litigation associate at Kaye Scholer, now Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer. A graduate of Fordham University School of Law, Bond left the firm in 2012, after five years, to work on criminal justice issues at the Laura and John Arnold Foundation, which devotes a significant portion of its efforts exploring ways to improve a number of areas inside criminal justice.
