Fordham Law Professor Clare Huntington has been chosen to serve as an Associate Reporter on the American Law Institute’s new Restatement of the Law, Children and the Law project.

The project will deal comprehensively with the legal regulation of children. Its scope will encompass a variety of legal issues that concern children and childcare, including healthcare, education, discipline, religion, the scope of parental authority, and state intervention. The project will reflect changes in the legal regulation of child welfare in light of recent developments in science, social science, and the recognition of children as legal persons.

Huntington is one of six law professors chosen to serve on the project. As an Associate Reporter, she will be responsible for drafting projects to be reviewed by the American Law Institute Council. Later drafts of each project will be made available to the public.
