The Office of International and Non-J.D. Programs at Fordham Law School announces its continued partnership with Pegaso Telematic University, the Civil Law International Notary Public Association, and the Italian National Notary Foundation. Through this program, participants may receive a Master’s Degree in Corporate and Civil Law granted by Pegaso. The program offers a comparison between U.S., Italian, Chinese, and Latin American systems with a focus on real property transfers and transfers by gift, trust, and intestacy. This course is suitable for lawyers, notaries, accountants, and other professionals.
The program seeks to identify best practices in dealing with foreign investors and professionals and fostering a network of professional relationships based on competence, reliability, and trust.
The portion of the program at Fordham Law School will take place from Sunday, August 30, through Saturday, September 5, and includes discussions among U.S. common law professors and their civil law counterparts, as well as a dialogue with leading New York City practitioners. Instructors include Professor Oreste Cagnasso, Associate Dean and Professor Nestor M. Davidson, Professor Martin Gelter, Professor Sean J. Griffith, Professor Tanya Hernandez, Notary Giancarlo Iaccarino, Assistant Dean Toni Jaeger-Fine, Avv. Ubaldo Messia, Professor Michele Perrino, Notary Paolo Smirne, and program head Professor/Notary Giuseppe Michele Antonio Trimarchi. Additional instructors will be announced.
The course and teaching materials are in English. A certificate of completion is provided at the conclusion of the course.
The cost of enrollment is 1,800 euro per participant, which includes all classes, law firm visits, weekday lunches, a closing dinner, and program materials. Transportation and accommodations are not included.
