    Professor India Thusi ’07 Receives ABA On the Rise Award

    Fordham Law alumna Isy India Thusi ’07 was named one of the American Bar Association’s Top 40 Young Lawyers On the Rise for 2019.

    Professor Thusi is an Associate Professor of Law at California Western School of Law, where she teaches Criminal Procedure, Critical Race Theory, and Regulation of Vice. She has worked for a number of human and civil rights organizations, including the American Civil Liberties Union (National Legal Department), Human Rights Watch, the Center for Constitutional Rights, and The Opportunity Agenda.

    She served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert L. Carter on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York; the Honorable Damon J. Keith on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit; and Justice van der Westhuizen on the Constitutional Court of South Africa, the country’s highest court.
