Fordham Law School announced today that Elisa Douglas has been appointed as senior director of alumni relations and public programming.

Starting today in her new role, Douglas will be responsible for leading Fordham Law’s alumni relations team, where she will help strengthen the school’s global alumni network of 22,000 lawyers, connect alumni throughout the world, and create a pipeline to help the next generation of alumni and legal professionals.

Douglas has worked with diverse student bodies and alumni populations for over 13 years. Prior to joining Fordham Law, she was the director of regional clubs and alumni relations at Columbia University, where she created global strategy and provided guidance on governance models, succession planning, volunteer management, programming, marketing, and best practices for over 100+ regional clubs and 600+ alumni volunteers. She has also worked for the office of alumni relations at St. John’s University and at Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions. Douglas earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from St. John’s University.

“I am thrilled to welcome Elisa to Fordham Law School. She brings a unique set of skills and experience to this crucial role and will be integral in helping us fulfill our institutional vision of creating connections for our alumni that will allow them to make a difference across the world,” said Fordham Law School Dean Matthew Diller. “I am grateful to the hiring committee, which was made up of a cross-section of alumni and staff, for the diligent and swift work they completed. The outcome is tremendous and I applaud their service.”

Additionally, Douglas will be responsible for growing the alumni network by identifying, tracking and keeping alumni connected with the law school. At the same time, she will work to deepen the relationship between Fordham Law and its graduates and supporters.

“Elisa is a dynamic leader with a record of success in alumni relations in higher education. She will be an asset to our alumni community as she helps to keep us connected to our alma mater and to find ways to enhance our careers,” said Palmina M. Fava, president of the Fordham Law Alumni Association.

“I am honored to join the extraordinary community at Fordham Law,” said Douglas. “I am deeply passionate about serving, building and fostering alumni communities and look forward to upholding and expanding Fordham Law’s exceptional alumni network.”
