Bernice Grant, founding director of the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic and senior director of the Entrepreneurial Law Program, has been appointed associate clinical professor. She teaches students how to provide transactional legal services, using an integrated law and business perspective informed by her background as a corporate attorney and certified public accountant.

Grant has published articles in the Hastings Law Journal and the Journal of Affordable Housing and Community Development Law. In 2018, she created the Startup LAWnchpad Podcast, which educates entrepreneurs about legal issues affecting startup ventures. Students in Fordham Law’s Entrepreneurial Law Clinic are involved in all aspects of content creation for the podcast, including in-depth research, hosting episodes, and interviewing experts and Fordham Law alumni.

Prior to Fordham Law, Grant was a clinical supervisor and lecturer in the Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and was an acting assistant professor and associate director of the lawyering program at New York University School of Law. She began her legal career as a corporate associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, where she advised clients on a wide range of complex corporate transactions and executive compensation matters for seven years. Grant also maintained a pro bono practice, advising entrepreneurs and artists on legal issues.

Grant received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and an LL.M. from New York University School of Law. She earned a B.S. and M.S. from Wake Forest University.
