As the spring semester gets underway, Fordham Law welcomes 104 new graduate students: 53 in-person LL.M. students in 9 degree specializations; 1 student in the new online program in LL.M. Corporate Compliance; and 50 students in the online M.S.L. Corporate Compliance program.
The incoming class includes Maria Milagros Astesiano, recipient of the William Michael Treanor Scholarship. Milagros earned her LL.B. from the Argentine Catholic University in Buenos Aires and is an associate in the intellectual property litigation department of Marval O´Farrell & Mairal. Juan Ferreira, a graduate of Fordham’s Legal English Institute, is the Law School’s newest Fulbright Scholar. He earned his LL.B. from the University of Buenos Aires and has served for many years as an attorney in the Council of Magistrates of the City of Buenos Aires. Fordham Law also welcomes two Vivian Leitner Global South LL.M. Scholars: Noah Ephraem Adamtey and Samantha Brener. Adamtey earned his LL.B. from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. He has worked at the African Centre of International Criminal Justice, African Centre on Law and Ethics and the Judicial Service of Ghana. Brener earned her LL.B. from the University of Witwatersrand and has published in the field of human rights. Most recently, she engaged in litigation and advocacy focused on ensuring fulfilment of the right to basic education at SECTION27. In addition, Brener has worked in the Constitutional Litigation Unit of the Legal Resources Centre and as law clerk at the Constitutional Court of South Africa.
This new group of students joins the 71 LL.M. students, 122 M.S.L. students, and 11 doctoral students who are continuing their studies (for a total of 308 graduate students). The new graduate students come from more than 20 countries and often have significant work experience in their respective areas of expertise.
Every student has the option to take a fully online schedule or to have a mix of online and in-person classes. Despite the shift to partial online learning, Fordham Law continues to provide an immersive learning experience, starting with a robust orientation and academic program.
“I continue to be amazed by our graduate students. We have had the great fortune of welcoming so many impressive, hard-working, and dynamic professionals to our programs, and I can already see that this incoming class will carry that torch with equanimity and grace,” said Assistant Dean Toni Jaeger-Fine, who leads the Law School’s graduate programs. “Despite the challenges that we all now face, the shift to remote learning has offered many new opportunities, and this new group of students is well positioned to capitalize on them.”

The summer 2021 application cycle is open for online LL.M. and M.S.L. programs in compliance. The fall 2021 application cycle is open for the online (in U.S. Law and Corporate Compliance) and in person LL.M. programs, as well as online (in Corporate Compliance) and in person M.S.L. programs.
