Fordham Law welcomes 177 new graduate students for the fall semester—120 students in nine LL.M. degree specializations, including three students in the new online LL.M. Corporate Compliance program; 13 students in the in-person M.S.L. programs; 42 students in the online M.S.L. Corporate Compliance program; and two doctoral degree candidates who will be working under the supervision of Professors Caroline Gentile and Olivier Sylvain.
This new group of students joins the 79 LL.M. students, 118 M.S.L. students, and seven doctoral candidates who are continuing their studies, for a total of 381 graduate students. Our new graduate students come from more than 40 countries and often have significant work experience in their respective areas of expertise.
We are especially delighted that seven Fulbright Scholars have chosen to pursue their graduate law degrees at Fordham Law—Ana Alvarez, Anda Bologa, Nodira Irgasheva, Dat Nguyen, Mya Thita Oo, Antonella Pestoni, and Henaa Salehi. Alvarez earned her LL.B. from Universidad Centroamericana and is a banking and finance lawyer with Consortium Legal in Nicaragua. Bloga earned her LL.B. from the University of Bucharest and is an associate at Wardyński & Partners, where she focuses on white-collar crime. Irgasheva earned her first law degree from Tashkent State Institute of Law in Uzbekistan and is a corporate associate at Denton’s Tashkent office. Nguyen earned his LL.B. from Hanoi Law University in Vietnam and is an intellectual property associate at Baker McKenzie. Oo earned her LL.B. from Pyay University in Myanmar and was an associate with DFDL Myanmar Ltd. Pestoni earned her first law degree from National University of Cordoba and is a staff attorney at the Public Defender Office of Inmates and Security Measures of the Judicial Justice of Cordoba. Salehi earned her first law degree from Kabul University in Afghanistan and is the founder and executive director of the Afghanistan Center of Gender Studies.
Fordham Law is also pleased to welcome Wilmer Gonzalez Colina, who comes to us through the Talento TotalLAW Prep Program. Gonzalez Colina earned his first law degree in Venezuela and most recently worked as a legal advisor for the La Guajira Committee for Human Rights.
We are also pleased to welcome Nang Kay Si Kham, who is a USAID Burma Lincoln Scholar. Kham earned her LL.B. in Myanmar and recently worked as an associate with the Luther Law Firm.
The incoming class also includes Eric Aguda, recipient of the William Michael Treanor Scholarship. Aguda earned his LL.B. from the University of Ghana and is the executive director of Aguda & Co. Unlimited, where he focuses on litigation and appeals before the Superior Courts of Ghana; Frangelin Sarabia, the recipient of the John D. Feerick Scholarship, who earned her LL.B. at San Beda University in the Philippines and is a legal officer at the Department of Foreign Affairs; Mona Brunache, recipient of the Joel Reidenberg Scholarship, who earned her LL.B. from the University Evry Val d’Essonne in Paris and serves as legal counsel at Volkswagen; and Markus Diekmann, recipient of the Roger Goebel Scholarship, who earned his first law degree at the University of Muenster, where he focuses on competition law and served as a research assistant to Professor Petra Pohlmann.
Fordham Law also welcomes two Vivian Leitner Global South LL.M. Scholars—Estefania Gonzalez and Sha Huang. Gonzalez earned her first law degree from Universidad Tecnologica Ecotec in Ecuador, where she worked as an attorney at the Particular de Loja Legal Clinic. Huang earned her LL.B. from Southern Medical University School in China and worked as a public interest lawyer at the Guangdong Lvchengdingbang Law Firm.
“We are fortunate to have such an impressive cohort of new LL.M., M.S.L., and S.J.D. students this fall,” said Assistant Dean Toni-Jaeger-Fine, who leads the Law School’s graduate programs. “They are smart, resilient, and ambitious. I look forward to working with them, watching them integrate into the larger Fordham Law community, and seeing what they go on to do with their Fordham Law education.”

The spring 2022 application cycle is open for the online and in-person LL.M. programs, as well as the online M.S.L. program in compliance. The fall 2022 admissions cycle will begin on September 15, 2021. Applications for the summer 2022 online programs in compliance (both LL.M. and M.S.L.) will open on October 1.
