The Feerick Center is very pleased to announce the new Director of its New York Unaccompanied Immigrant Children and Immigrant Families Project, Bree Bernwanger. Bree comes to the Project after extensive work on immigration issues and, in particular, unaccompanied immigrant children. Most recently, Bree served as a Clinical Fellow in Albany Law School’s Family Violence Litigation Clinic and Immigration Project, where she taught and supervised students and engaged in advocacy in connection with immigration issues. In that role, Bree gained experience learning about the issues of immigrant children and families in upstate New York. Prior to serving as a Clinical Fellow, Bree worked at Sidley Austin LLP, the New York Civil Liberties Union, and the International Justice Network. Bree is a graduate of Georgetown Law School and the University of Texas at Austin.

Bree succeeds Olga Byrne ’04 who served as Director of the Project from January 2013 through April 2015.
