Fordham Law alumnus Bradley J. Butwin ’85 will be honored with the Human Relations Award from the Anti-Defamation League on December 8, 2014.

An active trial lawyer, Butwin serves as Chair of O’Melveny & Meyers LLP. Under Butwin’s leadership the firm has received international praise; it is currently ranked second on The American Lawyer’s A-List of well-rounded law firms and is one of only two firms to become a finalist for the publication’s Litigation Department of the Year every year since its inception.

In addition to his other leadership roles, Butwin is on the New York City Bar Association’s Committee on Financial Reporting and the Task Force on New Lawyers in a Changing Profession.

Butwin was previously a recipient of the Thurgood Marshall Award on behalf of the Bar of the City of New York, for assisting in the freeing of a wrongly convicted man on Georgia’s death row.

Butwin has received recognition from Chambers USA as one of the top 25 litigators in New York City for the past five years. Benchmark Litigation has named him a National Litigation Star, and Lawdragon has named Butwin one of the 500 Leading Lawyers in America.

Butwin will be recognized alongside Pierre Gentin, head of Credit Suisse’s Global Litigation Group.

The Anti-Defamation League is dedicating to combating the defamation of the Jewish people and establishing justice and fair treatment for all.
