Joseph E. Geoghan ’64, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Milton Fisher ’42 Second Harvest Award at the Golden Rams Luncheon for his embodiment of the Law School’s highest ideals of excellence and service.

Jack S. Kannry ’68, partner in the New York City law firm of Warshaw Burstein, LLP and chair of its Construction Law Group, has recently authored two published articles in a series for Engineering News-Record, a leading national construction industry periodical, under the general theme of “Practical Legal Strategies”. The articles are entitled “Using the Freedom of Information Statutes” and “Contractor Remedies for Unforeseen Site Conditions Seemingly Precluded by Contract”, and are available on that publication’s website.

Bruce J. Bergman ’69 lectured for judicial seminars on mortgage foreclosure issues in December 2015 at the Judicial Institute in White Plains and in June at the Nassau County Supreme Court. The first of his 2016 bi-annual supplements to his four volume treatise, Bergman On New York Mortgage Foreclosures, was also published through LexisNexis Matthew Bender in June. Mr. Bergman is currently a partner at Berkman, Henoch, Peterson, Peddy & Fenchel, P.C.

Arthur J. Gonzalez ‘69 was appointed by President Barack Obama as Member of the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico. He is currently a Senior Fellow at New York University School of Law (NYU).

Denis F. Cronin ’72 received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Colgate University on May 15, 2016 and was named Chair of the Board of Trustees Emeritus.

Sylvia Fung Chin ’78 is the recipient of the Norman Lau Kee Trailblazer Award this year at The Asian American Bar Association of New York’s (AABANY) Seventh Annual Fall Conference.

William S. Harwood ’78 has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® 2017. He is a partner in the Portland, Maine office of Verrill & Dana LLP and focuses on Administrative / Regulatory Law, Energy Law, and Energy Regulatory Law.

Robert L. Schonfeld ’78, Of Counsel at the Garden City law firm of Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP, was recently appointed by the Nassau County Bar Association (NCBA) to serve as Vice Chairman of its Civil Rights Committee. He focuses his practice in anti-discrimination litigation in the State and Federal Courts to enforce the right of persons with disabilities to access services in the community.

Hon. Charles J. O’Shea ’84, a former state Assemblyman from Nassau County, has been named Of Counsel at Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C. He previously worked as a government affairs and external relations director for the New York Department of Transportation.

Tracey Niemotko ’85, Professor of Accounting and Chair of the School of Business at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y., has been elected to join the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants Board of Directors as a Chapter Representative.

Michael J. Goldberg ’86 has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2017. Mike was also noted as “Lawyer of the Year” for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law in Boston. Mike is a partner at Boston law firm Casner & Edwards. He specializes in the areas of business bankruptcy, financial restructuring and business transactions as well as commercial real estate transactions.

Wallace E.J. Collins III ’87 was selected for the 2016 New York State Super Lawyers list in the area of entertainment law. He focuses his practice on entertainment intellectual property matters such as copyright and trademark in the music, film, television and internet fields.

Roy E. Reichbach ’87 has been promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer of NeuLion, Inc. and will take on expanded responsibilities within the company, including accelerating the company’s growth strategy. Mr. Reichbach, who is also a director of the company, was previously its General Counsel.

Catherine Botticelli ’88 is a recipient of Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 2016 Women Worth Watching Award. She is currently a partner at Dechert LLP in the firm’s White Collar and Securities Litigation Group.

Timothy E. Brog ’89 has been appointed as a new independent director of Rubicon Technology Inc. His legal, investment banking, executive management and financial analysis experience position him well to serve as a director of Rubicon.

Vanessa Spiro ’89 has joined K&L Gates LLP as a finance partner in the Pittsburgh and New York offices. Ms. Spiro practiced most recently in the New York office of Jones Day. She concentrates her practice on loan market syndicated, highly leveraged, and acquisition finance matters, along with other lending and credit transactions.

Vicki Gruber ’90 has become Of Counsel to Campolo, Middleton & McCormick, LLP, with offices in Ronkonkoma and Bridgehampton, New York. She brings over 25 years of in-house and law firm experience to the firm, where her practice focuses on corporate and securities law and commercial mediation.

William Min ’90 welcomed Liam Vincent Byung-Su Min on August 26, 2016 at 12:41 pm, weighing 5 pounds, 10 ounces, measuring 18.75 inches.

Matthew T. McLaughlin ’94 has been named Managing Partner of the New York office of Venable LLP. His practice areas include complex commercial disputes, securities litigation, intellectual property litigation, product liability defense, and construction litigation.

Carol E. Remy ’94 has been named counsel at Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP in the firm’s real estate and environmental departments. She focuses on all areas of commercial real estate and environmental transactions and counseling.

Salvatore Salamone ’94 has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Taxes at Golden Living, a nursing home chain in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Mr. Salamone has been married to Marcie Varesio Salamone ’94 for 22 years and together they have a beautiful and talented daughter, Alexandra, who is 17 years old.

Christine Fernandez ’95 married Stephen J. Rockwell, Ph. D on March 20, 2016, in Jericho, New York. Stephen is a professor of political science at St. Joseph’s College, New York, and Christine is a partner at Garbarini and Scher in Manhattan.

Eric Penzer ’96 was named to The Best Lawyers in America® 2017. He is a partner at Farrell Fritz, P.C. who specializes in trusts and estate litigation.

Stacey Rappaport ’96 has been named to the Board of Directors of Sanctuary for Families, an advocate for survivors of domestic violence and sex trafficking. She is a partner in the New York office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Arbitration Group.

Carl Hum ’97 has been elected to the Board of Directors of the NYC Housing Partnership Development Corporation. Mr. Hum is also the Senior Vice President for Management Services and Government Affairs at the Real Estate Board of New York and previously served as President and CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.

Jennifer G. Smith ’97, former divisional Lead Counsel for LexisNexis Health Care IT and former practice leader of Lockton’s Global Technology & Privacy Practice, has joined Shulman Rogers, with a focus on the practice areas of Data Use and Privacy and Protection. Jennifer has nearly two decades experience as a General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer, Data Privacy and Insurance SME.

Kimberly Lowe Hall ’98 has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Administration and General Counsel at Columbus State Community College. Hall joined Columbus State in 2012 as the president’s Chief of Staff and has most recently served as Vice President and General Counsel.

Yehuda M. Braunstein ’99 has been named a partner at Sadis & Goldberg in the firm’s Financial Services, Family Office and Corporate Groups. His practice focuses on investment funds, securities, family offices, joint ventures, regulatory compliance and investment advisers.

Steven E. Coury ’99 has joined White and Williams LLP as a Partner in the firm’s Westchester, New York and New York City offices. Steven joins the Real Estate and Finance Practice Groups. His practice focuses on structured real estate finance and capital market transactions.

Daniel Yarmish ’99 has been elected to partnership at Loeb & Loeb LLP. His practice focuses on estate planning and the administration of estates and trusts.  

Richard Frecker ’00 has been appointed executive vice president and general counsel for Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. Frecker, who joined the company in 2008, previously served as vice president and deputy general counsel. In that role, he was responsible for all corporate securities matters and served as head legal counsel on Treasury and Corporate Development activities together with responsibility for corporate compliance.

Ramón A. Pagán ’00, a Brendan Moore Advocate, has been appointed by Oregon Governor Kate Brown to the Washington County Circuit Court, where he will fill the vacancy of retiring Judge Rick Knapp. Mr. Pagán is a criminal defense attorney in private practice, before which he was an associate attorney at Janet Hoffman & Associates LLC.

Sophia Michelle Goring-Piard ’02 has been named Of Counsel at Fragomen Worldwide. She initially joined the firm in 1998, serving as a law clerk and transitioned in 2000 to serve as an associate for seven years. After serving as a solo practitioner, she returns to Fragomen, where she assists individual, multinational and corporate clients.

Damon Suden ’02 has been named by the National LGBT Bar Association to its 2016 “Best Under 40” list for distinguishing themselves in their field and demonstrating a profound commitment to LGBT equality. Mr. Suden is a partner at Kelley Drye & Warren, focusing his practice on commercial and complex civil litigation.

Christopher W. Glynn ’03 has joined Fox Rothschild as a partner in the firm’s New York intellectual property practice. He was previously partner at Kenyon & Kenyon. Mr. Glynn is a skilled patent attorney with a Ph.D. in organic and inorganic chemistry, with experience in patent litigations involving pharmaceutical products, dietary supplements, chemical processes and DNA diagnostics.

Afua Atta-Mensah ’04 has been named the new Executive Director of Community Voices Heard and CVH Power. Previously, she has been with the Urban Justice Center’s Safety Net Project for five years as the supervising attorney, and brings a career in social justice with senior leadership experience with the Urban Justice Center and the Center for Working Families

Jocelyn E. Lavallo ’05 has joined Foley & Lardner LLP’s finance and financial institutions practice and energy industry team as of counsel. Ms. Lavallo joins from Chadbourne & Parke.

Keith Roussel ’05 and his wife Kelly Roussel, on October 03, 2015, welcomed twins Thomas Martin Xavier Roussel and Olivia Mae Roussel. They join their proud big brother Benjamin Alexander Roussel.

Jessica Taub Rosenberg ’05 has been promoted to partner at Kasowitz LLP in the firm’s New York office. Ms. Rosenberg’s practice focuses on employment-related litigation before federal and state courts, administrative agencies and arbitration panels. She also advises clients on terminations, employment agreements, employee misconduct, and employment policies and practices.

Mayush Singhvi ’05 has joined Munck Wilson Mandala as an associate practicing in the intellectual property section. He has over 15 years of experience advising companies on the protection of their Intellectual Property, patents, and other legal matters. His clients include wireless and telecommunications providers, medical and surgical device developers, and semiconductor and consumer electronics manufacturers.

Giuseppe Franzella ’06 and Mary Franzella ’08 recently had a baby boy named Lincoln. Giuseppe is currently a partner at Lazer Aptheker in Long Island and Mary is an attorney at Hogan Lovells.

Stefi George ’06 has joined Akerman LLP as Of Counsel in the Tax Practice Group. She represents corporations and individuals in all areas of tax law and tax planning. She regularly represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service, the New York State Department of Taxation and in U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. She also has experience with corporate acquisitions and other corporate transactions on behalf of lending institutions and other private companies.

David V. Kay ’06 has been appointed to the board of directors of Eco Oro Minerals Corp. Mr. Kay has been appointed to the Board pursuant to the Company’s investment agreement with Trexs Investments, LLC, an entity managed by Tenor Capital Management Company, L.P.

Daniel B. Lundy ’06, partner with Klasko Immigration Law Partners LLP, has also been named to the list of the 2016 top 25 EB-5 lawyers in the country by EB5 Investors magazine. Mr. Lundy has also been elected co-chair of the IIUSA Banking Committee.

Dmitriy Chelnitsky ’07 was promoted to Counsel at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. His practice focuses on advising public and private companies, executives and boards on executive compensation and employee benefits issues.

Erica Gomez ’07 has been promoted to serve as General Counsel for the Legal Wellness Institute at The Family Center. Her practice includes both civil litigation and transactional matters in the areas of family and matrimonial law, landlord/tentant disputes, and trusts and estates.

Jennivere L. Kenlon ’07 was appointed to the Committee on Women in the Law of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA). In this role, Jennivere will have the responsibility of identifying, studying and making recommendations to address gender bias and law-related issues affecting women. She is currently an associate at Fox Rothschild in the firm’s Real Estate Department.

William Lim ’07 is now the Vice President of Communications of the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey. William is a licensed attorney in New Jersey and New York, focusing on commercial litigation, healthcare transactions, healthcare regulation, and insurance practices.

Alison Miller ’07 has joined Wynnchurch Capital, a leading North American middle-market private equity firm, as the Director of Business Development. Ms. Miller is focused on sourcing new investment opportunities that fit Wynnchurch’s operations-oriented investment approach. She also supports the firm’s strategic relationships with the bankruptcy and restructuring M&A community.

Andrew Milano ’08 has been elected to Morgan Lewis & Bockius’s partnership, effective October 1. Andrew is partner-elect in Morgan Lewis’s Corporate & Business Transactions practice in New York. He has experience in US domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, and disposition, and advises enterprises on joint ventures, commercial contracts, and general corporate and compliance matters.

Nafees Nuruddin ’08 has been named by the National LGBT Bar Association to its 2016 “Best Under 40” list for distinguishing themselves in their field and demonstrating a profound commitment to LGBT equality. Mr. Nuruddin is currently Associate General Counsel at Canary.

Andrew E. Clyne ’09 has been promoted to Senior Director at Lateral Link. As Senior Director, Clyne will be playing an integral role in the expansion of Lateral Link’s business. Based out of New York City, Clyne began his career as a prosecutor in the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office. He was also an associate at Dewey & LeBoeuf, where he represented clients in a range of complex commercial litigation and investigations.

Andrea L. Voelker ’09 has joined Blank Rome LLP as an associate in the Consumer Finance Litigation group. She is based in the Firm’s Los Angeles office. Ms. Voelker joins Blank Rome from Baute, Crochetiere & Gilford LLP.

Anthe M. Vorkas ’09 has joined the New York County Lawyers Association as its General Counsel. Her office handles all corporate governance, contractual and policy matters of the organization. Prior to joining NYCLA, Ms. Vorkas was an adjunct professor at Fordham Law in the Community Economic Development Clinic and continues to advise the clinic on contractual and non-profit issues.

Stephanie K. Benecchi ’10 has joined Montgomery McCracken as an associate in the Litigation Department in the Philadelphia office. Prior to joining Montgomery McCracken, Stephanie was an associate with a commercial litigation firm in New York, where she handled high-stakes civil litigation, corporate investigations, and insurance coverage, in federal and state courts.

Judah Fuld ’10 joined Bouland & Brush, LLC, a law firm in Baltimore, MD, as an associate in both the Litigation and Real Estate practices.

Matthew F. Max Nowak ’12 has joined the White Collar Defense team as an associate at Kramer Levin Naftalis and Frankel LLP. Since graduating Fordham in 2012, Max served as an associate in the Investigations, White Collar and Fraud group in the New York office of Hogan Lovells US LLP.
