Fordham Law School Professor Michael W. Martin spoke to The Wall Street Journal about the trial of New York Police Department officer Peter Liang charged with second-degree murder in the death of Akai Gurley.
“That’s going to require something that suggests he understood the risk, understood it was unjustifiable and substantial, and he essentially blew through it anyway,” said Michael W. Martin, clinical associate professor of law at the School of Law at Fordham University. “The way to do that would be to show training that suggests you just don’t do that.”
