    Anesthesia allergy could complicate Ohio execution

    Deborah Denno comments to the Associated Press on a condemned Ohio inmate who is undertaking what appears to be a unique legal maneuver, arguing that an allergy to anesthesia could cause cruel and unusual punishment if Ohio officials  inject him with the one lethal drug they now use.

    The secrecy that surrounds many states’ injection procedures may explain why the issue appears never to have arisen before, said Deborah Denno, a Fordham University law professor and lethal injection expert.
