Deborah Denno, one of the nation’s foremost experts on the death penalty, discusses with WJCT Radio’s First Coast Connect the October 15, 2013, lethal injection execution in Florida of William Happ. The execution was the first to use the drug midazolam hydrochloride, and was also notable for the use of a “cocktail” of three drugs that are prohibited in animal euthanization in Florida.

The story was played on WJCT Radio’s First Coast Connect on October 16, 2013.
