    Alumna Rebecca Kagan Sternhell ’12 Receives New York City Law Dept Award

    On December 12, 2013, Fordham Law alumna Rebecca Kagan Sternhell ’12 received the New York City Law Department’s Legal Rookie of the Year Award.  Sternhell was recognized for her exemplary work in the Legal Counsel Division of the Law Department.

    The Legal Rookie Award is given to first-year attorneys selected for their “outstanding performance, promise, dedication, solid work ethics, constructive attitude and willingness to contribute to building a positive work environment.”

    “The Law Department has been an incredible place to work,” said Sternhell.  “The collaborative, supportive environment has afforded me tremendous opportunities to grow as an attorney.  I’m very lucky to be able to say I love my job.”

    Sternhell received her award at the 32nd Annual Awards Ceremony, held at the Manhattan Surrogate’s Court in Lower Manhattan.  The awards were presented by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, along with New York City Corporation Counsel Michael Cardozo.  It was the final event for Cardozo, who returned to the private sector at th end of the year.
