On September 8, a group of Italian notaries and other legal professionals will begin a one-week program at Fordham Law School. The program, Italian and U.S. Company and Notarial Law in Comparative Perspective, is organized in collaboration with Fondazione Italiana del Notario, Civil Law International Notary Public Association, and L’Università Telematica “Pegaso” Civil Law.

The program combines a classroom component with visits to some of New York’s top law firms, where the delegation will meet with leading attorneys in their respective fields. Morning sessions will be held at Fordham Law, with lectures by Professors Nestor Davidson, Martin Gelter, Sean Griffith, Tanya Hernandez as well as Giorgio Bovenzi of Davis Polk and Ubaldo Messia of Chiomenti Studio Legale.  During the afternoons, the group will be hosted at Herzfeld & Rubin, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, Skadden Arps, White & Case, and Withers Bergman. Fordham Law Dean Michael M. Martin will officially welcome the group to New York City and to the Law School.

“Fordham Law is delighted to be associating with Italy’s national notary association on this project,” said Toni Jaeger-Fine, Assistant Dean for International and Non-J.D. Programs. “We are honored to have been chosen as the partner for this important and innovative program.”

The program will conclude with a written and oral examination period and a celebratory dinner.
