    Chi Mgbako Named 2015 Rising Star

    Chi Mgbako has been named one of New York Law Journal’s Rising Stars The clinical professor of law and founding director of the Walter Leitner International Human Rights Clinic was one of fifty young lawyers chosen by a panel of twenty-four esteemed judges.

    The NYJL judges review nearly three hundred nominations of attorneys age forty and under who have established a record of accomplishments and demonstrated that they are top contributors to the practice of law.

    A graduate of Harvard Law School and Columbia University, Professor Mgbako’s research and teaching areas are human rights, sex workers’ rights, access to justice, and gender and sexuality in Africa. Her publications have appeared in the Harvard Human Rights Journal, Yale Journal of International Affairs, Georgetown Journal of International Law, and Human Rights Quarterly.

    The NYJL Rising Stars will be honored at an event on June 16 at Manhattan Penthouse.
