    Angelica Kang ’16

Angelica Kang ’16 received the Woman of Inspiration Award at the annual Ms. JD conference in San Francisco this March. Kang was one of only three recipients of the award, which is given to women who inspire others through their commitment to and passion for their work.

Ms. JD is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to the success of aspiring and early-career women lawyers. Founded by a group of female law students in 2006, the organization is composed of law students and recent graduates and supported by a small group of independent contractors.

Kang was an easy choice for the selection committee. “The support for Angelica was overwhelming and deservingly so,” wrote conference committee Co-chair Raychelle Tasher. “While maintaining a full-time job and attending law school, Angelica has remained dedicated to public service and excelled in leadership roles.”

Kang is a paralegal at New York Legal Assistance Group and a committee member of the Military Spouse J.D. Network. At the Law School, she is a Stein Scholar, symposium editor for the Fordham Environmental Law Review, and a research assistant to Professor Jennifer Gordon. Before enrolling at Fordham Law, she spent two years with the Peace Corps in Senegal.
