Karen Greenberg was interviewed on the Leslie Marshall Show about recent bomb threats called in to the Los Angeles and New York City school systems. Los Angeles schools were closed down as a result; New York City schools remained open.
In general you want to make as few calls that shut down systems of any sort, whether it’s transportation or schools.

In general public authorities have to rely on the preventive measures they have in place across the country, and that’s what this discrepancy showed. Who knows who they did or didn’t consult before they decided to shut down the school system? I would think that some consultation nationwide, in general, would be a good idea, in this case and in other cases as well.
