The Women’s Political Caucus of New Jersey will honor Fordham Law alumna Holly Schepisi ’97 for her work in the State’s General Assembly during its annual awards ceremony this month.

Schepisi, who has represented New Jersey’s 39th Legislative District since 2012, will receive the Carol Murphy Award during the organization’s Passion Power Progress Awards.

The Bergen County–based Assemblywoman’s efforts to retain businesses, remedy funding issues, and oppose tax increase attempts on Bergen and Passaic counties have earned her praise from a variety of organizations in recent years.

The Star-Ledger in Newark recognized Schepisi among its Top 9 to Watch in 2015, describing the Republican legislator as “well positioned for a rise in the future” and a well-liked legislator across party lines. The New Jersey League of Municipalities also honored her with its 2014 Outstanding Women in Government Award.

Schepisi serves as special counsel at the law firm of Huntington Bailey, LLP, and is Managing Director of Clear Spring Capital Group, encouraging private investing for job creation. She serves as President of the New Jersey Chapter of the Fordham Law School Alumni Association. As a Fordham Law student, she was a member of the Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy Center’s mock trial team.

The Passion Power Progress Awards will be presented on January 21 at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
