Fordham Law Seeking Library Director

Fordham Law School has announced a search for the next director of its T.J. and Nancy Maloney Law Library.

The library director will oversee a staff of more than 20 and will have responsibility for all areas of library operations, including budgeting, staffing and personnel management, strategic planning, overseeing student and faculty support services, setting collection development priorities, and managing current and future technological needs and services.

“The 21st-century law library is much more than a repository of casebooks; it is a hub of technology, an interactive learning area, an innovative research environment, and a digital classroom,” said Dean Matthew Diller. “Fordham Law is looking to hire a forward-thinking individual who can thrive within this dynamic space and imagine innovative ways that it can continue to serve and engage with students and faculty at the highest level.”

Located on two floors of Fordham’s new Law School building, the Maloney Library is a state-of-the-art facility that accommodates approximately 715 patrons. It maintains a comprehensive collection of print volumes, subscription databases, microform items, periodical titles, and other media. Reference service is available 55 hours a week including Sundays, and a portion is open 24/7 for study.

Fordham Law School is located in central Manhattan—across the street from Lincoln Center, two blocks from Central Park, and just a short walk to midtown and the theater district, allowing easy access to New York City’s law firms, courts, corporations, media outlets, and government agencies.
