Jennifer Gordon was quoted in the last part of NPR’s Marketplace series about human trafficking; breaking down the guest worker program; and a look at the latest job numbers.
“Employers of H2B workers are paying them, in fact, about 25 percent less than the average wage for U.S. workers in those industries.”
Gordon says once workers are brought in, they are bound to their employer and can’t go to another, even if they’re mistreated.
