Judge Seibel serves in the Southern District of New York in the White Plains courthouse. After graduating cum laude from Fordham, where she was editor-in-chief of the Fordham Law Review, she held numerous positions in the U.S. attorney’s office. She was appointed to the bench in 2008 and currently co-teaches a trial practice course at Columbia Law School.

“Her distinguished career stands as an example for our highest and best ideal: graduates ‘in the service of others,’” said Michael K. Stanton, Jr. ’86, FLAA president, in presenting the award to Seibel. “Her career is one dedicated to service and marked by excellence. She has consistently displayed utmost professionalism, integrity, and humility.”

Also bestowed at the luncheon were the Rising Star Awards, which recognize the achievements of alumni in three distinct fields who have graduated within the past 15 years. Kristy Rogan Meringolo ’06 was recognized in the in-house and business field while Carrie A. Tendler ’05 and Daniel Gross ’07 were recognized in the private practice and government, public interest, and nonprofit fields respectively.

At his first Annual Luncheon as dean, Matthew Diller spoke about the strength of the Fordham Law community.

“Coming back to Fordham Law, I have a newfound appreciation for how powerful the Fordham Law network is, and how loyal you all are to the School,” he said. “There are many law schools out there with terrific faculties, dedicated administrators, and gifted students. But none have an alumni community that is so involved or faithful to the institution—and to each other. Your impact on the School is tremendous.”
