Fordham Law Professor Sean J. Griffith’s article “Confronting the Peppercorn Settlement in Merger Litigation: An Empirical Analysis and a Proposal for Reform” was selected by Corporate Practice Commentator as one of its “Ten Best Corporate and Securities Articles” in 2015. Griffith’s article was chosen by corporate and securities teachers from among 540 other articles published in legal journals. Corporate Practice Commentator will post the results of its 22nd annual list in its upcoming issue.

Griffith’s article, co-written with Penn Law Professor Jill E. Fisch and Berkeley Law Professor Steven Davidoff Solomon, offers a new approach to assessing the value of shareholder claims challenging corporate mergers by empirically testing the relationship between merger litigation and shareholder voting on the merger.

Griffith is the T.J. Maloney Chair in Business Law and the director of the Fordham Corporate Law Center. His primary teaching and research areas are corporations and mergers and acquisitions.
