Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), as defined by the Department of State in a recent CVE joint strategy document, “refers to proactive actions to counter efforts by violent extremists to radicalize, recruit, and mobilize followers to violence and to address specific factors that facilitate violent extremist recruitment and radicalization to violence.”
Muslimmatters. org mentioned a study produced by Fordham Law School’s Center on National Security (directed by Professor Karen Greenberg) which analyzes ISIS prosecutions in the United States. The study shows that 59% of all ISIS prosecutions in the US were determined to have involved informants or undercover agents (this, out of a paltry 101 cases in total).
