The American College of Trial Lawyers has chosen the Honorable John F. Keenan ’54, senior United States district judge for the Southern District of New York, as next year’s recipient of its Leon Silverman Award.

In a December 21 message, the college announced that it would present the award to Judge Keenan at its New York downstate committee’s spring dinner, on March 22.

The college has selected Judge Keenan, a “trial lawyer’s judge” by reputation, for his distinguished career in public service. Along with Judge Keenan, the college will also recognize its member and fellow Fordham Law graduate Sharon McCarthy ’89, who clerked with Judge Keenan before embarking on her own career as a prosecutor and defense attorney.

The dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Century Club, on March 22, 2017.
