Fordham Law alumnus Kevin McKernan received the 2017 Sullivan-Murphy Award, named after two Fordham grads, on Jan. 29.
McKernan, a graduate of Fordham Law, worked as an intern when Sullivan was the District Attorney. He then became Murphy’s Assistant District Attorney for eight years.

“I am truly humbled,” McKernan said. “They taught me lessons in law and in life. Those mentors taught me something I could carry with me to this day. They were tremendous D.A.’s as everyone knows, but they were even finer gentlemen.”

“It’s really just a tremendous honor and it’s hard to put in to words,” McKernan said. “This day is a very special day for me.”
