John Feerick discussed the Fordham Law history behind the 25th Amendment during a Feerick Center event on Feb. 3, which was later broadcast by WFUV.
“The 25th Amendment can be understood perhaps by pointing out that the article to the Constitution has a succession provision…..it deals with the removal of a president from office on his death, resignation, or inability to discharge the powers and duties of the office….. “
“We ended up with a major problem as to whether or not the vice president in the case of inability would become the president for the rest of the term, even though the inability might be temporary inability ….”
