Adjunct Professor Matt Gold Discusses Canadian Lumber Tariffs On Business Radio

    0
By Newsroom on April 26, 2017 Faculty, In the News, Transition to Trump

Adjunct Professor Matt Gold was interviewed on Knowledge@Wharton (the business interview program of U Penn’s Wharton School) about Canadian lumber tariffs.

“America First … is … a slogan that describes a policy of America alone, and that will never put America’s interests first.”

“[Prior to the 2006-2015 lumber agreement,] the U.S. lumber industry got crushed by these [subsidized and dumped]Canadian imports and did not get the protection of antidumping duties and countervailing duties that they should have, and it’s time for the U.S. lumber industry to get a break.”

“President Trump likes to bluff a lot, and he likes to throw out really bad bluffs like the one to pull out of NAFTA.  Never gauge your expectations on what President Trump says.”
