Fordham Law School recently announced two appointments in academic affairs and registrar’s office.
Audrey Glassman has been appointed to serve in the new position of assistant dean for curriculum and academic planning. Vanessa Garcia has been promoted to registrar.
For the past 15 years, Glassman has served as registrar. In her new position, she will work closely with the School’s associate dean for academic affairs to enhance the curriculum, implement assessment and learning outcomes programs, and assist with updating academic policies. She will help the Law School develop and shepherd through a host of changes, with a focus on improving the quality of the curriculum and implementing the American Bar Association’s new comprehensive requirements for learning outcomes at the institutional, course, and individual student levels. She will also help develop systems for assessment in all of those domains. Glassman will continue to build class schedules and serve as the point person for full-time and adjunct faculty on issues relating to course scheduling.
Garcia will manage the day-to-day operations of the Registrar’s Office, advise students, ensure compliance with rules and procedures, and provide leadership and advice on student matters related to the office. Since becoming the associate registrar in 2011, Garcia has assumed ever-greater responsibility and has been transformative in enhancing the office’s use of technology to better serve Fordham Law students. With her master’s degree in counseling, Vanessa has proved adept at student interactions and advising.
