Joseph Di Palma 58 was named a 2017 recipient of the Marquis Who’s Who Lifetime Achievement award.

John Feerick ’61, former dean at Fordham Law, was interviewed by Law.com for his involvement in the development of the 25th Amendment and on August 12 received the American Bar Association Medal

Robert A. Purcigliotti ’62 was honored by the New York State Workers Compensation Bar Association for his lifetime achievement and service to the workers.

Hon. Norman J. Peer ’63 was featured in The Two River Times.

Joseph Carlucci ’67 received the Westchester County Business Journal’s “Above the Bar” award for “Most Socially Conscious Attorney.”

H. Amos Goodall, Jr. 74 received the Theresa Award for his work in creating the legal framework necessary to ensure that disabled children are cared for long after their parents have passed away.

William Harwood ’78 was recognized as a leading lawyer in the field of energy and natural resources in the 2017 Chambers & Partners Guide. He was also recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers” by The Best Lawyers in America 2018. He is an attorney at Verrill Dana LLP in the Portland, Maine, office. Harwood was also honored with the Hon. Edmund S. Muskie Access to Justice Award for 30 years of leadership and advocacy.

Frank C. Ingriselli 79 has been named chairman of the board at Erin Energy Corporation.

Hugh Finnegan ’80 has joined the firm, Romer Debbas LLP, as a partner and has been named co-manager of the firm’s commercial real estate department.

Paul P. Tanico ’80 joined the New York Academy of the Medicine Board of Trustees.

Hon. Perry T. Criscitelli 81 has been installed as the president of the Nassau County Magistrates Association.

Gerard Joyce 81 has been appointed to National Head of Trusts & Estates by Fiduciary Trust Company International, a global wealth manager and wholly owned subsidiary of Franklin Templeton Investments.

Stephen M. Miller 81 was appointed as the Town of Lincoln (RI) probate judge.

Michael J. McNamara ’83 was named new leader of the New York County Lawyers Association.

Robert A. Boresta ’84 has joined Gibbons as a director in the firm’s corporate department. Boresta had previously worked at S&P Global in its global regulatory affairs department.

Fred A. DeCicco ’84, partner and head at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP has been chosen by the Expert Network as a distinguished lawyer, recognizing him as one of the top in his industry.

Brian Fraser ‘84 has joined national law firm, Akerman LLP, as partner in the litigation practice group and member of the New York office.

Rob Laughlin ’92 has been named regional market manager for the Metro New York team at Citi Private Bank.

Maria Scungio ’93 has joined Wolf Greenfield’s trademark practice group as a shareholder.

Todd Long ’94 is a recipient of New York State Bar Association’s yearly President’s Pro Bono Service Award.

James L. Bernard ’95 was awarded the 2017 Burton Award for Legal Writing for co-writing “The Movie Spotlight and Legal Ethics” along with colleague Joel Cohen.

Steven M. Gursten 95 of Michigan Auto Law recently received the Melvin M. Belli Society annual Mel Award, one of American law’s most prestigious honors, at the American Association for Justice’s annual meeting in Boston. This legal honor recognizes an attorney’s courage, creativity, and contributions to American trial law.

Sabrena Silver ’95 has been appointed partner at White & Case in its global banking practice.

Ari Weisbrot ’95 has joined the firm Bryan Cave LLP as a partner in the commercial litigation group. He will practice at the New York office.

Rita Glavin ’96 was featured on the front page of the New York Law Journal after her client, former Dewey executive director, Stephen DiCarmine, was acquitted of all charges on May 8, 2017.

Alan Levine ’96 was presented with Fund for Modern Courts’ 2017 John J. McCloy Memorial Award in recognition of his contributions to improving the administration of justice in New York State.

Eric W. Penzer ’96 was named in the Best Lawyers in America 2018. He is an attorney at Farrell Fritz in Long Island.

Carmella Stephens ’96 became a partner in Carter, DeLuca, Farrell & Schmidt LLP’s life sciences practice group on April 27. Stephens received her Ph.D. from Stony Brook University and followed with a postdoctoral fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

John Resek ’01 became a partner in Carter, DeLuca, Farrell & Schmidt LLP’s life sciences practice group on February 1. Resek received his Ph.D. in biochemical pharmacology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and completed postdoctoral work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

James Gatta ’02, chief of the criminal division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, has been recognized by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Executive Office for US Attorneys Director Monty Wilkinson at the 33rd Director’s Awards Ceremony for his prosecution of former U.S. Rep. Michael Grimm for tax fraud.

Kate B. Belmont ’09 has been appointed president of the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association’s New York/New Jersey chapter.
