The Office of International and Non-J.D. programs at Fordham Law School is delighted to announce that the third Winter Institute in New York City is taking place January 3–11.

The institute, open to students and graduates of law schools outside the United States, offers an intensive introduction to the U.S. legal system and the opportunity to study side by side with the Law School’s incoming master’s students.

Participants in the Winter Institute will also visit the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York and law firm McDermott Will & Emery LLP. Optional sessions include preparing the U.S.-style cover letter and resume and applying to U.S. LL.M. programs. Participants will also enjoy an opening luncheon and a closing luncheon and certificate ceremony.

“Fordham Law School is thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity to lawyers from around the world to convene at our Manhattan campus and learn alongside our LL.M. and M.S.L. students,” said Assistant Dean Toni Jaeger-Fine, a director of the Winter Institute. “This is the perfect introduction to our legal system and to our Law School.”

This year’s participants come from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Germany, Ghana, Israel, Slovakia, and the United States. The School is particularly honored to welcome Judge Raecler Baldresca and Judge Vanessa Vieira de Mello, both federal judges from Brazil. For additional information, visit the Winter Institute webpage.
