Senate OKs New Mexico’s New U.S. Attorney

Fordham Law alumnus John Anderson ’03 has been appointed New Mexico’s new U.S. attorney.

The U.S. Senate has unanimously confirmed John Anderson of the Santa Fe law firm Holland & Hart to become New Mexico’s next U.S. attorney.

President Donald Trump nominated Anderson for the post in November, with bipartisan agreement from New Mexico’s congressional delegation. The U.S. Senate confirmed Anderson and a slew of other presidential appointees in a voice vote Thursday evening.

“It’s an honor to have been chosen to have been confirmed. It’s an exciting prospect but also a daunting one that comes with a great deal of responsibility, and I’m hoping I can do the best for the people of this district.”

He received his bachelor’s from Bowdoin College and his Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law in New York City, where he graduated cum laude.
