Alumnus Seth DuCharme ’03 has been appointed EDNY chief of the Criminal Division.
In the courtroom, DuCharme personally prosecuted two Brooklyn residents who traveled to the Middle East to kill American soldiers as well as a trio of trained suicide bombers while also neutralizing threats to the U.S. during the rise of ISIS in 2014.
In the violent crime area, he secured gang convictions that included a prominent drug ring that operated out of a Brooklyn neighborhood.
The prosecutor started his law career after graduating from Fordham University School of Law in 2003 and becoming an associate of the firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, LLP. Before making his way to the EDNY, he served as a deputy U.S. marshal in the Southern District of New York.
