Alumna Brooke Cucinella ’06, assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, joins Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, one of the world’s leading international law firms.

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP announced today that Brooke E. Cucinella, a federal securities fraud prosecutor, will join the Firm’s New York office in September as a Litigation Partner.

Brooke will join the Firm from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, where she has served since 2012 as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Criminal Division and as a senior member of the Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force. As a federal prosecutor, she tried multiple significant cases and oversaw numerous investigations involving federal and state law enforcement and regulatory agencies, including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Brooke has been responsible for investigating and prosecuting a wide range of complex financial crimes, including accounting fraud, insider trading, market manipulation, wire fraud, bank fraud, tax fraud and money laundering. She also has significant experience coordinating cross-border investigations.

“We are delighted to welcome Brooke to the Firm,” said Bill Dougherty, Chairman of Simpson Thacher’s Executive Committee. “Her extensive trial and investigative experience will be a wonderful addition to our substantial bench of experienced trial lawyers and former government attorneys.”
