Alumna Samantha Kearns Vaughan ’96 has been named group vice president, corporate compliance, and chief privacy officer by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc. Vaughan joined Wyndham Exchange & Rentals in 2012, where she was responsible for privacy, compliance and information management for the company’s global vacation exchange network program (RCI) and its vacation rental operations in North America and Europe.  Vaughan joined Wyndham Hotels & Resorts this summer upon its spinoff from Wyndham Worldwide Corporation. Prior to Wyndham, Vaughan held various compliance and legal roles at Prudential Financial, AIG and Selective Insurance.

Vaughan is a board member of ECPAT-USA, a U.S. nonprofit working to end commercial sexual exploitation of children. She co-chairs ECPAT-USA’s Corporate Relations Committee and is a member of the United Nations Committee.  Vaughan is also a member of the advisory board for Fordham Law’s Compliance Programs.

Vaughan holds several International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) certifications, including the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certifications for the U.S., Europe and Canada; the Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) certification and the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification. She was also among the inaugural recipients of the IAPP’s Fellow in Information Privacy (FIP) designation.
