The Office of International and Non-J.D. Programs is delighted to announce that it has just concluded a program in collaboration with the Centro de Estudios Garrigues (Spain) in U.S. Business Law and Practice for students in the Master in International Business Law at Garrigues. This is the sixth consecutive year in which Garrigues has partnered with Fordham Law to offer this program.
The program, which takes place from May 13-24, combined classroom training with institutional visits designed to introduce participants to the practice of law in the U.S. Classroom sessions, taught by a mix of Fordham Law faculty members and practitioners, covered Introduction to the U.S. legal system, Comparative Corporate Law, Corporate Finance, Contract Drafting and Negotiation, Cross Border Mergers & Acquisitions, Intellectual Property, International Arbitration, International Law/Comparative Law, and Litigation Management and Civil Procedure.
Program participants also visited a number of legal institutions – the United States Bankruptcy Court, the Commercial Division of the New York Supreme Court, and Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP. The program also offered optional sessions on LL.M. programs in the U.S. and the U.S. job search for foreign attorneys.
