Robert Mascola has been appointed as the new senior director of compliance programs. Mascola will be responsible for all of the law school’s compliance education, including overseeing the compliance curriculum for in-person J.D., LL.M., and Master of Studies in Law (M.S.L.) degrees, as well as planning and executing other compliance-focused programs and events.  He will also manage the new online M.S.L. corporate compliance program launching in the fall.

“We are excited to welcome Robert to the Fordham Law community,” said Matthew Diller, Dean of Fordham Law School. “He has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in compliance from his time as an in-house compliance officer at several major corporations and in private practice with a major law firm. He will be a great mentor to our students and a visionary leader in compliance education.”

Mascola was previously the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer at Barrick Gold Corporation, an international mining corporation with operations and projects across the globe, and was Director of Ethics and Compliance at Philip Morris International. Mascola was also previously in private practice at international law firm Arnold & Porter.

“I am thrilled to be joining such a vibrant community,” said Robert Mascola, senior director of compliance programs. “I am especially excited about working with faculty, staff and the community of compliance executives to deliver top-notch programs for professionals interested in taking their careers in compliance to the next level.”

Mascola earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School and M.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University. He also holds an A.B. in History of Science from Harvard College.
