0

The fourth annual Pre-Law Institute in New York City began at Fordham Law School on July 1, drawing 50 participants representing some 30 undergraduate colleges and universities across the country and internationally.

The Pre-Law Institute is open to all but is designed primarily for undergraduate students and others who are thinking about attending law school. The program provides an introduction to the U.S. legal system and substantive areas of law that are core to the J.D. curriculum. Faculty members are drawn from Fordham Law School’s full-time and adjunct faculty, and include Judge Denny Chin ’78 of the U.S. Court of Appeals and Justice Gerald Lebovits of the New York State Supreme Court. The program also features a visit to the law firm of Skadden Arps, a visit to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and a panel composed of public interest practitioners. There are also optional sessions on law school admissions and what every 1L should know.

Details regarding next year’s Pre-Law Institute will be posted soon here.
