Fordham Law School announced today that Jayne Schreiber has been appointed assistant dean of career planning.
Starting on January 13, in her new role, Schreiber will lead the career planning center and serve as a key member of the Law School’s senior management team. She will focus on enhancing career opportunities for the 1,200 J.D. students in Fordham Law’s day and evening divisions as well as the School’s alumni. Additionally, she will cultivate relationships with employers locally, nationally, and globally in legal, business and public interest sectors. Schreiber will also play a role in the implementation of the school’s new house system which aims to enhance the student experience by creating smaller communities of student support and mentorship within the School.
Before joining Fordham Law, Schreiber served as the assistant dean of career services at Chicago-Kent College of Law. There she oversaw all operations of the career services office, including career advising services and employer outreach. She was also previously the associate director of career services at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Prior to entering higher education, Schreiber was a practicing attorney at Winston & Strawn, and then in-house legal counsel for two international corporations in the commercial property development and management consulting fields. Her prior experience also includes her roles as director of business development for a boutique legal recruiting firm and director of marketing for the Chicago office of a national legal staffing firm. She received her Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law, her Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University, and is a member of the Illinois Bar.

Schreiber succeeds assistant dean Suzanne Endrizzi ‘96, who did an exceptional job leading the career planning center for 15 years through both strong and challenging economic times. In April, the Law School announced the creation of the Center for Judicial Events & Clerkships naming her as the founding assistant dean to develop this new school-wide initiative. “I am so pleased to welcome Jayne as my colleague at the law school and look forward to the school benefiting from her leadership in this next chapter for the career planning center,” said Endrizzi.
To fill the role, Fordham Law School’s leaders convened a committee comprised of 13 members representing law and business as well as the private and public sectors; alumni from a broad range of practice settings; as well as student, staff and faculty representatives. The School engaged Spelman Johnson to conduct the nationwide search.
