A Message from the Dean:
The director of university health services at Fordham University recently sent an update about the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Given the global nature of our community and our upcoming spring break, I wanted to reach out to ensure you saw the university update as well as to assure you that we take this situation very seriously. Importantly, as of today, there are still no confirmed nor suspected cases of this virus at the Law School or University.
An increasing number of countries are being placed under travel alerts and advisories. These alerts and advisories will necessitate increased vigilance. The university has asked students, faculty, and staff to seriously consider avoiding non-essential international travel. Although there is no way to know what the status of the COVID-19 outbreak will be at the end of our spring break, travelers should remain informed about restrictions. Students who travel to areas affected by COVID-19 may be kept off the Law School and University campus for two weeks following their return to prevent transmission of the virus. Please reference this CDC information for a list of countries that are currently impacted. Please note the university may require travelers to self-isolate even in instances when the CDC does not.
If students cannot come to class due to the virus or the need to self-isolate, we will record their classes. As this situation unfolds, we will all need to be measured and flexible in our continued response to developments.

Please follow the prevention practices detailed in the university communication. If you have any questions prior to, during, or after travel, please contact Assistant Dean Darin Neely at: [email protected].
The safety and security of our community is our top priority, and we will continue to update you with any new developments.
