By Newsroom on September 17, 2020 International and Non-J.D. Programs

This semester’s Legal English Institute (LEI) welcomes 18 new students from 12 countries—Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, France, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, and Turkey. Our new students bring a wealth of experience and diversity to our community.

“We are delighted to welcome this wonderful cohort of students to our community,” said Toni Jaeger-Fine, an assistant dean at Fordham Law who directs the Legal English Institute. “In the first week of the program they have distinguished themselves as a dedicated and engaging group.”

This program, which runs for a full semester, provides an introduction to the U.S. legal system and law with a special focus on legal English skills. LEI is offered online this semester for the first time. The spring semester LEI program, which will begin in early January, will also be offered online.
