    Garland Clerks Say He’ll Be Steady Hand To Guide DOJ

    Professor Clare Huntington, a former clerk for Judge Merrick Garland, comments on his appointment to Attorney General for the Biden administration.

    President-elect Joe Biden’s selection of Merrick Garland to be the next attorney general was lauded by the D.C. Circuit judge’s former colleagues and others on Wednesday, who predicted the U.S. Department of Justice veteran and onetime U.S. Supreme Court nominee will restore morale among prosecutors.

    …

    Clare Huntington, a professor of law at Fordham Law School and former clerk for Garland, said he has legal experience across the full breath of the department’s work.

    “He is a deeply committed public servant and will always put the rule of law first. He’s going to make every decision in the public interest,” Huntington said.
