    U.S. Department of Justice: Russians Hacked Federal Prosecutor

    Professor Bruce Green shared his expert opinion in an Illinois News Today article discussing the hacking of several prominent federal prosecutors in New York.

    According to the US Department of Justice, a Russian hacker behind SolarWinds cyber-spy activity hacked a prominent Federal Prosecutor’s Office email account last year. 

    According to the agency, 80% of Microsoft’s email accounts used by employees of four US law firms in New York have been compromised, and 27 offices have hacked at least one employee’s email account.

    “New York is the financial center of the world, and these districts are well-known for investigating and prosecuting various cases, including white-collar crimes and investigating people near the former president,” said Bruce Green of Fordham Law School, former prosecutor in the southern district.
