Fordham Law welcomes 62 new graduate students for the spring semester32 students in eight LL.M. degree specializations and 30 students in the M.S.L. Corporate Compliance program.

This new group of students joins the 117 LL.M. students, 150 M.S.L. students, and eight doctoral candidates who are continuing their studies, for a total of 275 graduate students. Our new graduate students come from nearly 20 countries and often have significant work experience in their respective areas of expertise.

We are particularly pleased to welcome our full scholarship recipients: Eric Aguda, recipient of the William M. Treanor Scholarship, and I-Li Liu, recipient of the Michael M. Martin Scholarship. Aguda earned his first law degree in Ghana, where he headed his own law firm and represented clients at trials and appeals in the Superior Courts of Ghana. Liu earned her first law degree in Taiwan, where she focused on tax law and served as a legal researcher for the Fair Trade Commission.

We are also excited to welcome Chukwuemeka Obi Ginikanwa and Benedicta Lasi, our Vivian Leitner Global South LL.M. Scholars. Ginikanwa earned his first law degree in Nigeria, where he was an associate at CLP Legal and worked to combat police corruption. Lasi earned her first law degree in Ghana, where she most recently served as executive director of the Center for African Legal Studies at UPSA Law School.

“I continue to be amazed by our graduate students. Through the years we have had the great fortune of welcoming so many impressive, hard-working, and dynamic professionals to our programs, and I can already see that this incoming class will be a force in its own right,” said Assistant Dean Toni Jaeger-Fine, who leads the Law School’s graduate programs. “Despite the challenges that we all now face, I know that we have a resilient group of professionals who are well positioned to continue to thrive.”
