National Law Journal: Prof. Bruce Green Not Surprised by Venue Dispute’s Outcome

Professor Bruce Green, director of the Louis Stein Center for Law and Ethics, was quoted in a National Law Journal article discussing the decision made by U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras of the District of Columbia to send a disciplinary proceeding against one of former President Donald Trump’s top lawyers back to D.C. Superior Court.

Fordham Law legal ethics professor Bruce Green was also not surprised by the venue dispute’s outcome.

Contreras cited D.C. Court of Appeals precedent, which states that sanctions not only punish the attorney but “protect the public and the courts, safeguard the integrity of the profession, and deter respondent and other attorneys from engaging in similar misconduct,” Green said.

“The state court that licensed you has an interest in policing you,” Green added. “It’s not just about punishing the conduct.” Green said.
