Kelly Saunders, M.S.L. ’23 always had an interest in law and initially planned to become a lawyer after working for some time as a paralegal. Instead, she decided to pursue an alternate career path in ethics and compliance where she said she “found her calling.” While completing her online M.S.L. degree in Corporate Compliance at Fordham Law, Saunders accepted a position as an ethics and compliance program specialist at a large financial services company. More than 2,526 American children died by firearms in 2022—an average of seven deaths every day, according to a report by the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions. At Fordham Law, the staff at the Center on Race, Law and Justice (CRLJ) has launched a new toolkit, which they hope will educate and inspire activists who are working to reduce gun-related violence. Georgetown Law Professor Stephen I. Vladeck talked about the shortcomings of the current U.S. Supreme Court and how its role in the American legal system has evolved at a recent lecture he gave at Fordham Law School. As the 2025 Coif Distinguished Visitor, Vladeck spoke to a standing-room only audience and argued that the current Supreme Court is more emboldened than in the past.
