On June 8, nearly two dozen legal scholars gathered at Fordham Law School for the annual Criminal Justice Ethics Schmooze in which they presented and discussed papers on the professional conduct and regulation of prosecutors, defense lawyers, and their offices. New reports released by Fordham Law School’s Rule of Law Clinic outline reforms to protect the fairness and integrity of elections. The respective topics of the three reports are: responding to emergencies that disrupt presidential elections, preventing third-party candidates from unduly impacting presidential elections, and addressing representation and participation of individuals convicted of crimes. Thousands of guests, family members, and loved ones joined Fordham Law School’s graduating Class of 2023 for the Law School’s 116th Diploma Ceremony. Held May 22 at Fordham University’s Rose Hill campus, the entire Law School community gathered at the ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the graduates. Guests included this year’s distinguished speaker Hon. Jeh C. Johnson, former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security; U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Fordham University President Tania Tetlow. Of the 630 students who graduated at the ceremony, 413 received J.D. degrees, 102 received M.S.L. degrees, 112 received LL.M. degrees, and three received S.J.D. degrees.…

Earlier this month, the student leaders of Fordham Law’s three highly-successful competition teams, Bianca Bernardi ’23, Millicent Kastenbaum ’23, and Sofia La Bella ’23, wrapped up their final year of law school. Bernardi served as chairperson of Fordham Dispute Resolution Society, Kastenbaum as editor-in-chief of Moot Court, and La Bella as editor-in-chief of Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy for the 2022-2023 academic year.
